✨ Cooking Recipes From Storybook Vale | Desserts: Part 2

Dreamlight Valley Storybook Vale Cooking - Desserts

✨ One final batch of Storybook Vale desserts to complete the collection! This second set brings another 11 recipes to the table, from Persimmon Pie and Strawberry Rhubarb Pie to Rice Pudding, the sour fondues, and a few simpler sweet treats. I've really enjoyed putting these dessert guides together, and there's one dish in this batch that easily steals the show for me… Underworld Cake! 🍰

I always find desserts particularly appealing to showcase, and that's a big part of what makes putting these cooking guides together so much fun. There's something about the colours, little decorative details, and variety of finished dishes that makes them especially enjoyable to photograph and arrange. Underworld Cake is easily my favourite from this batch, and it's the kind of dessert that makes me want to build an entire display around it!

This collection also has a lovely mix of fruit-based treats and simpler, creamy desserts. Persimmon Pie, Sour Berry Pie, Spiral Strawberry Pie, and Strawberry Rhubarb Pie bring together some familiar favourites, while the four sour fondues across the full collection (two in the current entry) add something a little different. Rice Pudding, Spicy Yogurt, and Vanilla Yogurt round things out with simpler options, too. One little thing I noticed while making these recipes is that the pies look almost identical, with only slight colour differences between them. It's a shame when you're trying to create a varied dessert table - perhaps they'd be better suited to a pie-eating contest instead! πŸ˜‚ Still, I wanted to finish cooking and cataloguing every Storybook Vale recipe, so here we are!

These recipes use a mixture of ingredients gathered throughout Storybook Vale, including Persimmons, Sour Berries, Spiral Strawberries, and other expansion ingredients, alongside a few known to the Valley such as Rice and Vanilla. It's a nice reminder of how much variety the cooking collection offers, even when some finished dishes look surprisingly similar.

In addition to the images above, you can find a full breakdown of each recipe featured in this entry below, including ingredients, star ratings, Energy values, and Star Coin sell prices. The Energy and Star Coin values may be higher if you've used a different generic ingredient required in a recipe or added an extra ingredient while cooking, as either can increase one or both values.

With this final batch, I've now completed the Storybook Vale dessert collection - and that means all the recipes I've been working through for this expansion are finally catalogued! If you'd like to revisit the rest of the collection, you can find my Storybook Vale appetizer and entrΓ©e entries using the journal entry labels listed at the end of this article.

Thanks so much for joining me for these cooking journal entries! 🌿 It's been really satisfying to work my way through the full Storybook Vale collection, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the game takes me next. I may even continue my cooking catalogue with Wishblossom Ranch… we'll see what inspires me!

✨ Premium Shop: Winifred Ensemble

Dreamlight Valley Premium Shop Winifred Ensemble, Winifred's Broomstick, Winifred Costume, Winifred's Broomstick, Hocus Pocus

✨ “BOOOOOOOK…!” πŸ˜‚ If there's one thing that could convince me to pick up a wardrobe item I might not use very often, it's Hocus Pocus! It's my favourite live-action Disney film, so when the Winifred Ensemble appeared in the Premium Shop, I knew I couldn't resist. And honestly, could this be a little sign of more Hocus Pocus magic making its way into Dreamlight Valley? I'm choosing to be hopeful!

The ensemble includes Winifred's Costume, Winifred's Wig and Winifred's Broomstick, and I love how much detail has gone into recreating her look. The broomstick accessory has become an instant favourite of mine, and I appreciate that both the wig and broomstick can be equipped separately without needing to wear the full costume. That gives you a few more options to play around with, even if you're not planning on dressing up as Winifred herself. I should also mention that Winifred's Wig isn't new to the game... this item was originally from the Haunted Holiday Star Path (in 2023!) so it's good to see that it has made a return in this Premium Bundle.

While I probably won't be wearing the complete outfit on a regular basis, I can already think of a few occasions when it'll come in handy. Perhaps I'll switch up my avatar's look for a future DreamSnaps challenge, or save it for Halloween when I'm wandering around the Valley doing a little trick-or-treating. Either way, as a Hocus Pocus fan, having this one in my collection was practically inevitable!

For 1,750 Moonstones, this is a fun little purchase for anyone who loves the Sanderson sisters, and I'm certainly not complaining about having a little more Hocus Pocus in my wardrobe. Now, if this really is a hint of more to come, I have just one request for the developers…

✨ Villager Overview: Jack Skellington

Dreamlight Valley Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas - Jack Skellington Overview Guide

✨ With Halloween almost here, it felt like the perfect time to finally give Jack Skellington his own Villager Overview! As the Pumpkin King from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jack brings a wonderfully spooky touch to Dreamlight Valley, and his arrival is one of those character unlocks that feels especially fitting for the season πŸŽƒ

I love how Jack's world blends Halloween with a little bit of Christmas magic, and his friendship rewards have some lovely themed pieces to collect as you progress through his quests. Whether you're a fan of the film or simply enjoy adding a little spooky atmosphere to your Valley, there's plenty to explore with Jack.

In today's journal entry, I'll take you through how to unlock Jack, his friendship quests, and all of the rewards you can earn as you build your friendship with him.

πŸ”“ How To Unlock Jack Skellington
(Click on any image to enlarge)

Dreamlight Valley Jack Skellington How to UnlockDreamlight Valley Jack Skellington Villager House - Jack Skellington's House

Jack Skellington is unlocked further into the game after unlocking the Forgotten Lands, and completing the story quest "Miracles Take Time," which introduces The Fairy Godmother to the Valley. After completing this quest, a strange tree with a carved pumpkin will appear in the Forgotten Lands, while four Matryoshka Dolls will appear at random around the Valley.

Picking up any one of the dolls will automatically begin Merlin's "Something Comes A'Knocking" friendship quest. You'll need to find all four Matryoshka Dolls and place them inside the strange tree in the Forgotten Lands, which will bring Jack into the Valley. During the quest, you'll also need to construct Jack Skellington's House. Once construction is complete, Jack officially moves into the Valley and is added to your character collection.

Jack Skellington's House is a tall, spooky home perched on a rocky overlook, with a design that feels right at home in the Forgotten Lands. I really love the dark look his house brings to the game, with its crooked design and unmistakable Halloween atmosphere. I can easily picture it surrounded by twisted trees, pumpkins, and other spooky decorations, making it a lovely centrepiece for a Halloween-themed build.

πŸ“œ Jack Skellington's Friendship Quests

Dreamlight Valley Jack Skellington Friendship Quests

Jack's friendship quests have a lovely mix of spooky experiments, Halloween preparations, and a little Christmas magic along the way. I also love how his story explores his curiosity and enthusiasm for discovering new things, which is such a big part of his character. Here are Jack's friendship quests in order:

Level 2: The Pumpkin King Returns
Level 4: The Scientific Method
Level 7: The Holiday Poll
Level 10: Dreamlight Day

Jack’s friendship quests explore his role as the Pumpkin King, his scientific curiosity, and his love of the holidays. As you progress through his story, you’ll help him with a variety of plans and experiments, leading up to a special celebration that unlocks his Jack’s Santa Suit Dream Style.

Like with all villagers in the game, you can increase Jack's friendship level through daily conversations, favourite gifts, or simply by hanging out with him while you complete Valley tasks.

🎁 Jack Skellington's Friendship Rewards

Dreamlight Valley Jack Skellington Friendship Rewards

As you increase Jack's Friendship Level, you'll unlock a mixture of spooky furniture, clothing, Design Motifs, Star Coins, and a special Dream Style inspired by his Christmas adventure.

Level 2: Howling Cat Statue (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Skellington Spiral Bag (Clothing item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Skellington's Christmas Tree (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Oogie Boogie T-Shirt (Clothing item)

Including the Level 10 reward listed above, the following rewards are also unlocked by completing Jack's level 10 friendship quest:

⭐ Level 10: Four Design Motifs, Jack's Santa Suit Dream Style, and Jack Skellington's Chalkboard (Furniture item)

You can find all of these quest-locked rewards highlighted in the image below.

Dreamlight Valley Jack Skellington Level 10 Friendship Quest Rewards

While I love having Jack wandering around the Valley all year round, there's something particularly fun about seeing him out and about during Halloween season. His distinctive look and spooky personality make him stand out among the villagers, and there's something fun about seeing a character from The Nightmare Before Christmas brought into the game.

I also appreciate how his friendship rewards bring together both sides of his character. The spooky pieces suit the Pumpkin King perfectly, while the Christmas-inspired items are a lovely nod to his attempt to take over the holiday in the film. Having a mix of both gives you some fun options when decorating or putting together a seasonal look.

Thanks for reading along in today's journal entry! Jack has now been added to my Villager Overview Hub, with Sally's overview coming next and Oogie Boogie to follow once I've completed his Halloween Event quests over the next few weeks.

✨ Cooking Recipes From Storybook Vale | Desserts: Part 1

Dreamlight Valley Storybook Vale Cooking - Desserts

✨ It's finally time to dive into the Storybook Vale desserts! 🍰 I've been looking forward to this part of the cooking collection, and this first batch of 11 recipes has a lovely mix of cakes, cookies, and sweet fondues. From Aphrodite's Delight and Golden Apple Pie to Merryweather's Gingersnaps, there are some wonderfully memorable names in this collection, and I can't wait to see the full dessert catalogue come together.

There's something particularly cozy about working through a dessert collection. Cakes and cookies always feel right at home in a little bakery, beside a cup of tea, or arranged across a beautifully decorated dining table. I can already picture some of these recipes being part of a charming little patisserie build somewhere in the Vale!

The cakes are a lovely place to start, with Cinnamon Cake, Lightning Cake, and Nutmeg Cake bringing a little variety to the collection. Golden Apple Pie is another name that immediately caught my attention, and I love how it has that familiar, comforting feel of a homemade dessert. These are the kinds of dishes I enjoy showcasing because they feel just as suited to a cozy afternoon treat as they do to a larger dessert spread.

Then we have the cookies! Cinnamon Cookies, Lightning Cookies, Merryweather's Gingersnaps, and Nutmeg Cookies give this batch a fun little selection of baked treats. I particularly enjoy seeing similar recipe ideas appear with different ingredients and names throughout the game. It makes the catalogue more interesting to work through, and I can easily imagine arranging a few of these on a platter for a little Storybook Vale tea party.

Aphrodite's Delight is another standout name for me, while Cape Gooseberry Sour Fondue and Honeydew Sour Fondue offer something a little different from the cakes and cookies. I always appreciate having that variety in a collection, especially when it gives me more options to showcase beyond the usual baked goods. And every one of these dishes feels right at home in the Storybook Vale.

With 11 recipes in this first batch, there's already plenty to explore, but I'll be splitting the Storybook Vale dessert collection into two parts. That gives each group a little room to shine without making either entry feel too overwhelming - and it means I can give the finished dishes the same attention as the rest of my cooking catalogue.

These recipes bring together ingredients gathered throughout Storybook Vale, with a very small selection of familiar cooking staples from the Valley appearing alongside ingredients associated with the expansion. I always enjoy seeing how the different ingredients come together across the dessert collection, especially when recipes share a similar theme but still have their own distinct identity.

In addition to the images above, you can find a full breakdown of each recipe featured in this entry below, including ingredients, star ratings, Energy values, and Star Coin sell prices. The Energy and Star Coin values may be higher if you've used a different generic ingredient required in the recipe, such as “Any Sweet,” or added an extra ingredient while cooking, as either can increase one or both values.

If you'd like to keep exploring my Storybook Vale cooking collection, you can also check out the appetizer recipes and the full entrΓ©e collection I've already catalogued, using the journal entry labels listed at the end of the article. With the desserts now underway, I'm getting closer to having the entire Storybook Vale cooking catalogue documented in one place!

Thank you for joining me for another cooking journal entry! 🌿 I'm really looking forward to seeing this dessert collection take shape with one more batch of Storybook Vale sweets to come. For now, it's time to enjoy these first 11 recipes - and perhaps start planning a little dessert table of my own.

✨ Haunted Floating Festival Event | 2026

Dreamlight Valley Haunted Floating Festival Event, October 7 to October 31 2026, Rewards

✨ The Haunted Floating Festival has returned to Dreamlight Valley, and the event runs from October 7 until October 31.

This event invites you to return to the same floating island as last year... well, mostly the same! The event brings 4 new puzzles to unlock, with a new Haunted Mansion added to the floating island for you to explore. Puzzles 6, 7 and 8 are currently available, with Puzzle 9 arriving on October 18.

As this is a returning event, you also have the opportunity to complete the first 5 puzzles and unlock the exclusive rewards tied to them, with all five puzzles also available to complete now. So, if you're new to the event, there are currently 8 puzzles waiting for you on the island!

Like all Floating Festival events in the Valley, you can access the Haunted Floating Festival through the portal in the Plaza, or via the Fast Travel menu.

How To Complete Puzzles 6, 7 and 8

Dreamlight Valley Haunted Floating Festival Event, How To Solve Puzzle 6, 7 and 8

It looks like Gameloft have done something a little differently with these event puzzles. When I first entered the new Haunted Mansion on the floating island, I was expecting to complete just one puzzle. But as I continued exploring, I realised there was a bit more involved, and before I knew it, I had completed both Puzzles 6 and 7, with Puzzle 8 providing a nice and easy finish!

Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Floating Festival Event Clue Book inside the Haunted Mansion

To make these new puzzles easier to follow, I’ve put together a visual guide that first walks you through unlocking the Bedroom door inside the Haunted Mansion, as this is where you’ll be able to continue with Puzzles 6, 7 and 8. I should also mention that when you first enter the Haunted Mansion, there's a clue inside a book at the end of the room (as shown in the image above) to help you complete the puzzle.

I actually really enjoyed this change of pace. The puzzles felt a little more involved than some of the previous Haunted Floating Festival challenges, and I liked having to explore the different rooms of the Haunted Mansion and work out how everything connected together. There’s a nice little progression to these puzzles, with the Bedroom door requiring to be unlocked before completing the challenges and each puzzle taking you all over the mansion.

Unlocking the Bedroom Door

Dreamlight Valley Haunted Floating Festival Event How to Unlock the Bedroom Door in the Haunted Mansion

Before you can complete Puzzles 6, 7 and 8, you’ll first need to unlock the Bedroom door at the end of the hallway.

To do this, you’ll need to collect two Haunted Key Fragments. The first comes from lighting four pumpkins throughout the Haunted Mansion using candles. The second Haunted Key Fragment is much easier to get, requiring you to chase the ghostly Zero fox throughout the mansion.

Once you have both fragments, you can craft the Repaired Haunted Key at a Crafting Station and use it to unlock the Bedroom door.

I’ve included the complete steps for unlocking the Bedroom door in the guide above, including where to find the candles, the key needed for the second chest, and a few other details.

Puzzle 6 — Release the Curse

Dreamlight Valley Haunted Floating Festival Event - Puzzle 6, Combination Pillar, Cobweb, Cat, Bat, and Hat

Puzzle 6 sees you working with a combination pillar inside the Bedroom to recover a missing page from the Grimoire. Though before you can start this puzzle, you'll actually need to complete puzzle 7 first... as the puzzle clue you need is unlocked through puzzle 7.

After completing Puzzle 7, you’ll receive a clue showing different areas of the Haunted Mansion. You’ll need to explore these rooms and identify the symbols shown in the clue, before entering them into the combination pillar in the correct order.

The correct combination is:

1. Cobweb → 2. Cat → 3. Bat → 4. Hat

Once the combination is correct, you’ll be able to collect the Lost Magic Page and return it to the Grimoire in the Bedroom, breaking the curse and unlocking the Decorative Magic Seal furniture reward.

Puzzle 7 — Haunted Library

Dreamlight Valley Haunted Floating Festival Event - Puzzle 7, Haunted Library, Chomping Chest furniture reward

Puzzle 7 is a fun little book-sorting challenge that takes you around the different rooms of the Haunted Mansion.

You’ll begin by picking up "Boo! The Big Book of Bat Facts by Paul Tergeist", before moving through the Front Room, Hallway, Storage Room and finally the Bedroom, transferring each book to the correct bookshelf and collecting the next book that appears after transferring the correct title.

The photo above does not list the name of each book, I have outlined each one below:

1. Boo! The Big Book of Bat Facts by Paul Tergeist
Collect From: Bedroom | Move To: Front Room Shelf

2. Frightening Flowers by I.M. Skaired
Collect From: Front Room | Move To: Hallway Shelf

3. The Chilling Cosmos by T. Rick Ortreat
Collect From: Hallway | Move To: Storage Room Shelf

4. Terrifying Tunes by Major Frite
Collect From: Storage Room | Move To: Bedroom

Once you’ve placed the final book back on the shelf in the Bedroom, you’ll need to complete an Event Memory Puzzle, before unlocking the Chomping Chest furniture reward. This Event Memory is the clue that you'll need to complete puzzle 6.

Puzzle 8 — Basement Door

Dreamlight Valley Haunted Floating Festival Event - Puzzle 8, Basement Door, Eerie Basement Door furniture reward

Puzzle 8 is a much quicker one to complete.

Once the Bedroom is unlocked, you’ll find a key inside the mouth of the Lion Statue. Use your Pickaxe to break the statue and collect the Eerie Basement Door Key, then exit the Haunted Mansion and locate the eerie basement door outside.

Transfer the key to unlock the door, then enter the basement and collect the Eerie Basement Door furniture reward from the red chest inside.

Puzzle 9 — Ghost Hunt

Puzzle 9 of the event was unlocked on October 18, and this one was too easy to complete. To complete this puzzle, you'll need to photograph 10 ghosts inside the Haunted Mansion to remove them. You'll find all ghosts floating around the 4 rooms. Here's where to find them:

2 in Front Room
3 in the Storage Room
3 in the Hallway
2 in the Bedroom

Photographing all 10 ghosts completes this puzzle, and a reward pouch will appear for you to unlock the final reward of the event, the Ghost furniture item.

▶️ You can also watch a quick video on this puzzle here.

Last Year's Puzzles!

I previously completed the first 5 puzzles of this event last year when the event was available, although I’ve only previously made video walkthroughs for Puzzle 4 and Puzzle 5.

You can check those out below, and yes... you'll notice quite a difference in my editing skills πŸ˜‚ I've come a long way... I think!

Puzzle 5: Haunted Mansion

Thank you for joining me on this Haunted Floating Festival adventure! I hope this guide helps you work your way through the new Haunted Mansion puzzles and collect all of the new rewards. I’ll see you in the next journal entry!
