✨ This Villager Overview heads to Eternity Isle, focusing on Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. Loud, confident, and completely convinced he’s the hero of every story, Gaston brings a very different kind of energy to the Valley. While he may not always have the best ideas, there’s something surprisingly entertaining about watching him stumble through situations with absolute confidence.

From unlocking him in Eternity Isle to progressing through his friendship quests, Gaston’s storyline leans into adventure, self-importance, and the occasional reality check - often creating some genuinely funny moments along the way 👤 (DLC: Eternity Isle)

🔓 How To Unlock Gaston

You'll first encounter Gaston as you progress through the Eternity Isle storyline and begin “The Wanderer of the Dunes” story quest after unlocking the Glittering Dunes biome. To unlock Gaston, you'll need to complete three story quests - The Wanderer of the Dunes, The Wild Tangle's Swarm, and Diamond in the Rough - before he is officially added to your villager collection.

Unlike most of the characters in the game, Gaston doesn't arrive through a Realm or traditional unlock path. Instead, his introduction feels more integrated into the Eternity Isle story itself, which helps make his arrival feel like a natural part of the expansion's progression.

Gaston's Lodge fits his personality perfectly. It's rugged, oversized, and packed with hunting-themed details that feel straight out of the Beauty and the Beast world. I actually found it surprisingly easy to work into existing village builds or a new desert-themed area around Eternity Isle.

📜 Gaston’s Friendship Quests

Gaston’s quests are exactly what you’d expect - larger than life, slightly ridiculous, and often centred around proving just how impressive he thinks he is. That confidence regularly leads to some entertaining situations, and his questline never takes itself too seriously.

There’s a lot of humour throughout Gaston’s storyline, and I found myself enjoying his quests more than I expected (at least from memory... as I completed his quests a while ago). Beneath all the bravado, there are also a few moments that give him a little more depth than his first impressions suggest.

Like all villagers, Gaston's friendship level can be increased through daily conversations, favourite gifts, completing quests, or by asking him to hang out while you complete tasks around Eternity Isle and the Valley. Gaston became my mining companion, though I suspect he'd insist he was doing all the hard work himself.

🎁 Gaston’s Friendship Rewards

Gaston’s rewards lean heavily into rustic, hunting-inspired designs, with a mix of decorative pieces, clothing items, and furniture that reflect his larger-than-life personality. While some rewards are quite specific to his theme, there are also a few pieces that work surprisingly well in more general outdoor builds.

🥩 Gaston’s Stall

Gaston’s Stall is unlocked during his level 2 friendship quest and offers a rotating selection of meat ingredients to purchase using Star Coins. It provides the only source of Venison, Poultry, and Pork in Eternity Isle, making it an incredibly useful stop for cooking and completing quests. Stock rotates daily, with ingredients available in either unlimited quantities or limited amounts depending on the day. Once unlocked, Gaston’s Stall can be moved anywhere in Eternity Isle.

Gaston absolutely delivered when it came to his personality. He’s still arrogant, dramatic, and completely convinced of his own greatness, but there’s enough self-awareness sprinkled throughout his quests that he becomes genuinely enjoyable to have around. His animations are also fantastic. Whether he’s flexing, posing, or proudly wandering around as though everyone should be paying attention to him, he always feels true to the original character.

I can also appreciate how different he feels compared to the other Beauty and the Beast villagers. While Belle, Beast, Lumiere, and Cogsworth bring warmth and charm to the Valley, Gaston introduces a completely different dynamic and energy.

✨ This Villager Overview shifts into something a little more emotional, focusing on Beast from Beauty and the Beast. While Beast can come across as intimidating, impatient, or even difficult at times, there’s also a quieter and more vulnerable side to him that slowly reveals itself the more time you spend around him in the Valley.

From unlocking him through the Beauty and the Beast Realm to progressing through his friendship quests, Beast’s storyline leans heavily into growth, trust, and learning how to reconnect with those around him - which makes his overall character arc feel one of the more rewarding in the game.

🔓 How To Unlock Beast

To unlock Beast, you’ll need to open the Beauty and the Beast Realm inside the Dream Castle using Dreamlight and complete the realm quest "A Prince in Disguise", which is the second quest in the realm. During this quest, you’ll place Beast’s Castle in the Valley, officially unlocking Beast and adding him to your villager collection.

Beast’s Castle remains one of the largest and most visually impressive homes in the entire game. Its dramatic design works especially well in the Forest of Valor, but also fits beautifully within DLC areas like Everafter, or even the Wishing Alps if you’re aiming for more of a winter-inspired aesthetic. Having Beast wandering nearby genuinely makes the surrounding area feel connected to the Beauty and the Beast world.

📜 Beast’s Friendship Quests

Beast’s quests feel much more personal compared to a lot of other villagers. Rather than focusing purely on adventure or humour, many of his storylines revolve around confidence, communication, and slowly learning how to open up around others.

There’s a noticeable sense of progression throughout Beast’s questline. Early on, he still struggles quite a bit with frustration and isolation, but over time you start to see a calmer and more thoughtful side emerge, which makes his friendship arc feel surprisingly genuine.

Like all villagers, you can increase Beast’s friendship level through daily conversations, favourite gifts, completing quests, or asking him to hang out while completing tasks around the Valley.

🎁 Beast’s Friendship Rewards

Beast’s rewards lean heavily into royal and elegant aesthetics, with furniture and clothing pieces inspired by the castle interiors from Beauty and the Beast. A lot of these items work beautifully in formal builds, libraries, or more luxurious indoor spaces.

🌹 Beast’s Greenhouse

Beast’s Greenhouse is unlocked during his level 10 friendship quest and offers a rotating selection of flowers that can be collected over time at no extra cost.

Once placed, the greenhouse can be upgraded using Star Coins, with each upgrade increasing the number and variety of flowers available to collect. At level 10, it can hold up to 20 flowers, making it especially useful for crafting, gifting, and completing quests that require flowers.



Beast’s Greenhouse also provides two unique items: the Red Rose and Rainbow Rose Bouquet. The Red Rose is included in the rotating flower selection, and you’re almost guaranteed to receive at least one whenever the greenhouse is fully stocked. The Rainbow Rose Bouquet must first be unlocked before it’s added to the greenhouse collection, which can be done by completing the Beauty and the Beast realm quest “A Growing Mystery.”

Once unlocked, Beast’s Greenhouse can be placed anywhere in the Valley, and additional versions can also be placed within DLC areas, each offering flowers unique to the biome or expansion region they’re placed in.

✨ Beast ended up being one of the more surprisingly emotional characters to have around the Valley. He’s not always easygoing, and some of his early dialogue can feel quite tense compared to other villagers - but that’s also what makes him stand out.

There’s something really satisfying about seeing his personality slowly soften as you progress through his quests. The Valley already has plenty of confident or cheerful characters, so having someone who feels a little more guarded and uncertain adds a different kind of depth to the overall cast.

I also really liked how much the Beauty and the Beast atmosphere expanded once Beast, Belle, Cogsworth, and Lumiere were all unlocked together.

✨ This Villager Overview brings a little more warmth to the Valley, focusing on Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast. Charismatic, dramatic, and always ready to turn even the smallest moment into a performance, Lumiere adds a lively energy that instantly stands out around the Valley.

From unlocking him through the Beauty and the Beast storyline to progressing through his friendship quests, Lumiere’s character leans heavily into hospitality, celebration, and enjoying life’s finer moments - often with just a little extra flair.

To unlock Lumiere, you’ll need to open the Beauty and the Beast Realm in the Dream Castle and complete all Beauty and the Beast realm quests, including unlocking both Belle and the Beast.

Lumiere is officially unlocked during the final realm quest, “A Guide to Better Castle-Keeping.” Prior to this, you’ll also construct Beast’s Castle in the Valley, which is where Lumiere lives in the Valley with the other Beauty and the Beast characters.

Beast’s Castle already feels grand on its own, but adding Lumiere into the mix makes the entire exterior feel more alive. His personality fits perfectly within the castle atmosphere, especially when you catch him wandering through nearby biomes during the evening.

📜 Lumiere’s Friendship Quests

There’s a very lighthearted tone throughout Lumiere’s questline, which suits him perfectly. Here are Lumiere’s friendship quests in order:

Increasing Lumiere’s friendship level works the same as with all villagers, through favourite gifts, daily conversations, completing quests, or asking him to hang out while completing tasks around the Valley.

Most of Lumiere’s rewards lean into elegant aesthetics and decorative pieces inspired by the world of Beauty and the Beast.

⭐ Completing Lumiere’s level 2 friendship quest also unlocks one of my favourite furniture pieces in the entire game: the Romantic Arch. While this quest rewards you with one arch, it also unlocks the crafting recipe, allowing you to craft additional as needed.

⭐ Completing Lumiere’s level 10 friendship quest also unlocks two additional clothing items: Ruffled Stage Dress and Ruffled Stage Shoes, and two furniture items: Clay Paw Prints, Fox and Raccoon Sculpture.

 

✨ Lumiere’s presence is dramatic in the best possible way, and there’s something really fun about how much personality he brings into even the smallest interactions. Of course, his animations are also fantastic. Between the exaggerated gestures, constant movement, and the warm lighting effects around him, he genuinely feels like he stepped straight out of the movie - I love seeing him hop around the Valley.

I also really liked how different he feels compared to Cogsworth. While Cogsworth is constantly trying to keep everything under control, Lumiere brings a much more relaxed energy, and the contrast between the two works incredibly well when they’re both wandering around the Valley together. Though if I had to pick between the two, I think Cogsworth still comes out on top for me personally.

Proper, organised, and constantly trying to keep everything running on schedule, Cogsworth brings a very different kind of energy to the Valley. While he can come across a little strict at times, there’s also something genuinely charming about the way he throws himself into keeping things in order - even when everything around him feels chaotic.

From unlocking him through the Beauty and the Beast storyline to progressing through his friendship quests, Cogsworth’s character leans heavily into routine, responsibility, and his ongoing attempts to maintain structure around the Valley… whether anyone asked for it or not.

To unlock Cogsworth, you’ll need to open the Beauty and the Beast Realm in the Dream Castle and complete all Beauty and the Beast realm quests, including unlocking both Belle and the Beast.

There’s a surprisingly cosy feel to his quests overall. Even when he’s frustrated or overwhelmed, it usually comes from wanting everything to work properly, and that makes him oddly endearing the more time you spend around him.

As with other villagers, you can increase Cogsworth’s friendship level through daily conversations, favourite gifts, completing quests, or asking him to hang out while completing tasks around the Valley.

🎁 Cogsworth’s Friendship Rewards

Cogsworth’s rewards lean into a more elegant, traditional style, with pieces inspired by the grand interior aesthetic of Beauty and the Beast. A lot of the items work especially well in formal rooms, libraries, or castle-style builds. The level 8 friendship reward, the Rococo Craftsmen's Desk, can also be used as a crafting table - and it’s easily one of my favourite themed crafting tables in the game.

✨ Personally, Cogsworth ended up being a lot more enjoyable than I expected. He’s not the loudest or most attention-grabbing villager, but there’s something really entertaining about his constant need to keep everything organised while the Valley continues being… well, the Valley. 

His animations and dialogue also feel incredibly true to the original character. Watching him wander around trying to maintain composure while surrounded by complete chaos somehow never gets old. I especially loved seeing some of his animations play out - it genuinely felt like watching deleted or extended scenes from Beauty and the Beast, which is a film I’ve always held close to my heart.

I also really liked how well he fits into the broader Beauty and the Beast atmosphere. Having Cogsworth, Lumiere, Belle, and Beast all together genuinely makes Beast’s Castle feel alive in a way it didn’t before.

🔓 How to Unlock Belle

You’ll first encounter Belle through a series of story quests connected to the Beauty and the Beast Realm inside the Dream Castle, where she’s determined to bring hope and harmony back to her world. Once these quests are complete, you’ll be able to invite her to Dreamlight Valley - once Beast’s Castle has been constructed in the Valley. Her arrival adds not only a beloved Disney icon to your collection, but also opens the door to her beautifully designed villager house, which has quickly become one of my favourite house skins in the entire game.
