✨ Villager Overview: Fairy Godmother

✨ This week’s Villager Overview shines a light on The Fairy Godmother - the gentle and whimsical character who brings warmth, wisdom, and a touch of magic to Disney Dreamlight Valley. In this entry, I’m taking a closer look at her presence in the Valley - from unlocking her pumpkin home in the Forgotten Lands to her friendship quests, rewards, and the enchanting items she brings along the way 🪄

🔓 How To Unlock The Fairy Godmother
(Click on any image to enlarge)

The Fairy Godmother becomes available as part of the main storyline once you’ve restored all six biome pillars and unlocked the Forgotten Lands. The full list of pillars (and their biomes) is:

Pillar of Friendship (Peaceful Meadow)
Pillar of Power (Dazzle Beach)
Pillar of Courage (Forest of Valor)
Pillar of Trust (Glade of Trust)
Pillar of Nurturing (Sunlit Plateau)
Pillar of Love (Frosted Heights)

After placing the correct orbs back into each pillar, which happens over time during gameplay, and unlocking the Forgotten Lands, you’ll discover the Fairy Godmother living inside the mysterious Pumpkin House. This begins the “Miracles Take Time” story quest, followed by four additional story quests, concluding with “What’s Left Behind”. Once completed, the Fairy Godmother officially joins the Valley and becomes part of your villager collection.

Her home - the Pumpkin House - is one of the most visually striking homes in the Valley. Sitting quietly among the dark, fiery tones of the Forgotten Lands, its glowing windows and whimsical design create a beautiful contrast against the biome’s otherwise eerie atmosphere. It’s easily one of my favourite character homes purely for how magical it feels, especially at night. And while you can move her home anywhere in the Valley, I've kept this pumpkin beauty in the Forgotten Lands.

For those of you who have been playing the game from the start... you'll recall a time when we unlocked the Forgotten Lands, and for a long time we all speculated whose home it belonged to! As for quite some time, there was no confirmation of who lived there.

📜 Complete Fairy Godmother Friendship Quest List

The Fairy Godmother’s friendship quests reflect her nurturing personality and magical background, often focusing on restoring hope, helping others, and bringing light back into forgotten places. As you increase her friendship level through conversations, daily gifts, and spending time together, you’ll unlock heartfelt story moments and magical rewards.

Below is the complete list of her friendship quests:

Level 2: Fire Alarm
Level 4: A Lost Book
Level 7: Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Oops
Level 10: A Magical Moment

To increase her friendship level, give her favourite gifts (up to three per day, which reset daily), speak with her daily, and spend time together while completing tasks around the Valley. Like Merlin, her presence adds a comforting and story-driven depth to your journey.

🎁 The Fairy Godmother's Friendship Rewards

As your friendship grows, you’ll unlock a range of rewards inspired by her magical abilities and pumpkin-themed aesthetic. These items lean heavily into the Cinderella theme and are perfect for creating enchanted, storybook-style builds throughout the Valley.

Level 2: Pumpkin Carriage Planter (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Enchanted Stone Bench (Furniture item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Enchanted Cage Lanterns (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Pumpkin Carriage (Furniture item; unlocks after completing her level 10 friendship quest)

⭐ Completing the Fairy Godmother's level 10 friendship quest also unlocks the Fairytale Gazebo (Furniture item), and the Fairytale Table (Furniture item).

These rewards are some of the most magical in the game, especially if you enjoy decorating fantasy-inspired or fairytale areas. I love that most of her rewards are styled similarly to each other, but easily work on their own when building in areas throughout the Valley.

✨ The Fairy Godmother brings such a calming and comforting presence to the Valley. I especially love seeing her wandering through the Forgotten Lands - she softens the biome in a way that makes it feel less ominous and more magical. Her pumpkin home, glowing quietly in the distance, is easily one of the most memorable sights in the entire Valley.

That wraps up today’s Villager Overview, and I’m so glad you joined me for this magical entry. The Fairy Godmother has now been added to the Villager Overview hub, and I’m looking forward to continuing the journey as more characters find their way into my journal 🪄

✨ The Winter Ball Update Arrives Tomorrow!

Today’s entry covers the next update in Disney Dreamlight Valley! ❄️ The Winter Ball update drops tomorrow, bringing Cinderella, a new Star Path, events, and more! I am so ready for the magic, the sparkle, and all the cozy new surprises. Who else is counting down? 🎄

Every update truly feels like one of those milestone moments in the Valley - the kind that reshapes your daily routine, your decorating plans, and even how you explore. With Cinderella stepping into the spotlight, a brand-new Star Path to grind through, and a full lineup of limited-time events, tomorrow marks the start of a very busy (and very sparkly) season.

To help with the current update release time, I’ve outlined a few time zones in the photo below for The Winter Ball update drop so you can be ready to download as soon as it becomes available! Noting Australia and New Zealand will receive the update as the date rolls into December 11. As an Aussie, I’ll be joining you all in the chaos about eight hours after the update releases - and like previously, a double-shot coffee will come first to perk me up! Whether you’re playing in Australia, the US, Europe, or elsewhere, I’m hoping I have you covered.

I still can’t believe Cinderella is finally coming to the game, and I’m surprised it’s taken this long, especially after being teased with her appearance in the game’s original trailer from years ago. In my latest video, I recap last week’s developer update - covering Cinderella’s arrival, the Winter Warmth Star Path, upcoming events, and quality-of-life improvements coming to the game. I’m also hopeful this update will seamlessly blend Cinderella’s story, fashion, and furniture items into the game, just like many previous updates have done.

I can’t wait to dive into this update and check out all the new rewards in the upcoming Star Path! The update will also continue to keep us busy with two in-game seasonal events: The Gift of Giving Event running from December 7 through to December 31, and The Winter Floating Festival beginning January 7 until January 28. In between… be sure to hop on December 25 to claim a special reward in the Dream Castle!

If you’re anything like me, tonight feels like that quiet-before-the-storm moment: inventory cleared out, tasks wrapped up (and Night Thorns left to destroy the Valley in preparation for Star Path duties 😅), and plans already forming for tomorrow’s grind. There’s something extra cozy about knowing a big update is waiting to be downloaded!

▶️ If you’d like a full visual summary, you can watch my latest Winter Ball update video here, where I recap the confirmed details coming to the update. Whether you prefer to read or watch, I’ve got you covered for the Winter Ball’s magical launch ✨

✨ Next Update: The Winter Ball Arrives December 10th!

📰 I can hardly believe it - it only seems like yesterday that I first walked into Wishblossom Ranch (with still plenty left to do there), and now the Winter Ball update for Dreamlight Valley drops next week on December 10! While I’m hopeful to get some new Christmas-themed furniture pieces as more sneak peeks roll out later in the week, the update is still shaping up to be everything I’ve been waiting for - and it looks like it’ll keep me busy in the Valley well beyond the next few weeks!

First off - yes, “the one we’ve been waiting for”: Cinderella is finally arriving! She’s locked behind a magical pumpkin enchantment, and it looks like the Fairy Godmother will need our help to break through it. I can't wait to unlock Cinderella, dive into her Friendship Quests (including a grand Valley-wide Friendship Ball!), and earn new friendship rewards along the way

But that’s not all. Like all previous free content updates, this one isn’t shy about bringing us a brand-new Star Path: the Winter Warmth Star Path! I can’t wait to jump into fresh tasks and start earning the new winter-themed rewards this season brings - including a cute new companion, the Festive Baby Pegasus! It also looks like we’ll be getting a “Cinderella Mega Bundle” in the Premium Shop, with new Dream Styles for both Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother, along with a few other surprises

One thing I’m really intrigued by is the new community-style feature: DreamTeams. Finally - a way to link up with friends (up to seven!), trade items, and share resources. It feels like the perfect excuse to gather your pals for some holiday fun, and I can’t wait to test out all the features that come with this new in-game experience

And if you’ve ever dreaded spending your Star Coins only to regret it later - good news! Scrooge McDuck is making some changes this season with a return policy: you’ll now be able to sell back unwanted furniture items for their original Star Coin price. Plus, new sorting, filtering, and search options in the shop make inventory management a breeze. This is huge, and I’m sure most of us have been wanting this incredibly helpful feature for a long time! ✨

Finally… there are two limited-time events to watch out for:

The Gift of Giving Event (Dec. 17–31): revisit last year’s festive achievements, earn all-new rewards, and log in on December 25 for a special holiday surprise (can be claimed until December 31)
The Winter Floating Festival (Jan. 7–28, 2026): weekly puzzles, floating-island vibes, and more seasonal goodies to round out the winter celebrations. I was particularly excited about the Halloween Floating Festival, so I’m thrilled that something similar is returning for the winter season!

Be sure to check back for all future updates surrounding the Winter Ball update, the new Star Path and, of course, the seasonal events!

❄️ So yep - I’m counting down the days until December 10. A new character to meet, new furniture items to unlock, cozy snow days to savour, and maybe even a shiny new community with friends. What could be more magical?

Thanks for catching up with me in today’s journal entry! 📖
