✨ Villager Overview: Mulan

✨ This week’s additional Villager Overview highlights Mulan, the courageous warrior known for her bravery, loyalty, and determination. Mulan brings a strong yet peaceful presence to Valley life once she settles in. While she may be recognised as a Disney princess, Mulan’s character has always stood out for her strength and resilience. Seeing her walking through the Valley alongside the other villagers feels like a natural fit, and her arrival adds another memorable story to the growing collection of characters who now call the Valley home. She also introduces Mulan’s Tea Stall, a unique service that allows you to collect special tea leaves that can be used in recipes.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about unlocking Mulan, from her friendship quests to the rewards you can earn along the way.

To add Mulan to the game, you’ll first need to unlock the Mulan Realm, which can be found inside the Dream Castle. Once inside the realm, you’ll begin a series of realm quests that introduces you to Mulan and the training camp where she is preparing alongside the Imperial Army. During the realm questline, you’ll help restore the training area and assist Mulan with preparing the camp before completing her final realm quest “Protecting the Camp.”

After completing the realm quests, you’ll be able to officially welcome Mulan to the Valley by placing and constructing Mulan’s House, which becomes her permanent residence once the build is complete. Her home has a beautiful design inspired by traditional East Asian architecture, featuring elegant roof details and warm wooden tones. I particularly love how versatile it is when decorating - it works perfectly for cherry blossom gardens, cultural builds, or more peaceful nature-inspired areas of the Valley.

๐Ÿ“œ Complete Mulan Friendship Quest List

Mulan’s friendship quests focus heavily on perseverance, personal growth, and supporting the Valley’s community. Many of her quests revolve around training, preparation, and helping others develop confidence - themes that closely reflect her story in the original film. Below is the complete list of Mulan’s friendship quests as you level up your friendship with her.

Level 2: A Daily Regime
Level 4: The Shadow Play
Level 7: The Art of Fun
Level 10: Training Games

As with other villagers, you can increase Mulan’s friendship level by:

• Giving favourite daily gifts (maximum of 3 per day)
• Having daily conversations
• Completing friendship quests
• Asking her to hang out while completing activities around the Valley

Spending time with villagers while gathering resources, fishing, mining, or gardening is one of the fastest ways to increase friendship levels and unlock their rewards.

๐ŸŽ Mulan's Friendship Rewards

As you progress through Mulan’s friendship levels, you’ll unlock a range of rewards inspired by her story and the aesthetic of the film. These include clothing pieces, decorative items, and motifs that reflect her warrior training and cultural heritage.

Level 2: Fa Family Wardrobe (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Carved Jade Bracelet (Clothing item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Hexagonal Window (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Imperial Silk Ensemble (Clothing item; unlocks after completing her level 10 friendship quest)

⭐ Completing Mulan’s level 10 friendship quest also unlocks the Golden Dragon Trophy (furniture item).

๐Ÿงบ Mulan’s Tea Stall

In addition to her friendship quests, Mulan also introduces a unique service to the Valley through Mulan’s Tea Stall, offering Chrysanthemum Tea Leaves, Jasmine Tea Leaves, and Oolong Tea Leaves. Once unlocked through her level 2 friendship quest, the stall allows you to obtain these tea leaves at no cost, though you can only collect a maximum of three of each type per day. These tea leaves are unique to her stall and cannot be found elsewhere.

The stall itself is also a lovely decorative addition, fitting beautifully into garden areas, markets, or cultural themed builds. Its design complements Mulan’s house nicely and adds another small piece of her world to the Valley.

✨ Mulan brings a really refreshing presence to the Valley. Her calm determination and quiet confidence make her feel very different from many of the other characters, and it’s always nice seeing her walking through the Valley as part of the community. Her home, tea stall, and friendship quests all add a small piece of her world to Dreamlight Valley, and together they create a lovely reminder of her story.

If you’ve already welcomed Mulan to your Valley, you’ll also meet her loyal guardian dragon along the way - you can read the full Mushu Villager Overview here.

Thanks for joining me for today’s Villager Overview! Mulan has now been added to the Villager Overviews hub, where you can explore guides for other characters currently living in the Valley ๐Ÿ“–

✨ Villager Overview: Mushu

✨ This week’s Villager Overview focuses on Mushu from Mulan, the self-proclaimed guardian dragon who joins the Valley from the Mulan Realm. Known for his quick wit, bold confidence, and tendency to get himself into trouble, Mushu quickly brings a lively energy to Valley life once he arrives. Although he may be small in size, Mushu’s personality more than makes up for it, and his constant commentary makes him one of the more entertaining characters to have wandering around the Valley.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about unlocking Mushu, progressing through his friendship quests, and the rewards you can earn along the way.

๐Ÿ”“ How to Unlock Mushu
(Click on any image to enlarge)

To unlock Mushu, you’ll first need to open the Mulan Realm, located inside the Dream Castle, and progress through the realm storyline alongside Mulan by completing all realm quests. Completing the final realm quest "Clearing the Road" marks the point where Mushu officially becomes available as a villager in your Valley.

Unlike many other characters, Mushu doesn’t have a separate house to place in the Valley. Instead, he lives with Mulan in Mulan’s House, which is constructed when Mulan is first welcomed to the Valley. Mulan’s House is another favourite of mine - I love the exterior, which opens up plenty of decorating possibilities, from cherry blossom-inspired builds to something a little more culturally influenced.

๐Ÿ“œ Complete Mushu Friendship Quest List

Mushu’s friendship quests reflect his mischievous personality and his determination to prove himself as a capable guardian. Many of his quests involve helping villagers, learning from mistakes, and occasionally causing a bit of chaos along the way. Here are the friendship quests you’ll encounter as you level Mushu up:

Level 2: A Reminder in Stone
Level 4: The M.U.S.H.U. Program
Level 7: The Guardian Party
Level 10: The Tiny Villagers Society

As with other villagers, you can increase Mushu’s friendship level by:

• Giving favourite daily gifts
• Having daily conversations
• Completing friendship quests
• Asking Mushu to hang out while completing activities around the Valley

Spending time with villagers while gathering resources, fishing, mining, or gardening is one of the fastest ways to increase friendship levels and unlock their rewards.

๐ŸŽ Mushu Friendship Rewards

As you progress through Mushu’s friendship levels, you’ll unlock a range of rewards inspired by the world of Mulan. These rewards help expand both your wardrobe and your Valley decorating options, particularly if you’re creating themed areas inspired by the film.

Level 2: Red Dragon Firework (Furniture item)
Level 3: Touch of Magic Material (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Guardian Track Pants (Clothing item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Guardian Incense Burner (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Guardian Track Jacket (Clothing item; unlocks after completing his level 10 friendship quest)

⭐ Completing Mushu's level 10 friendship quest also unlocks a Design Motif (Customisable), and the Tiny Chair (Furniture item - you'll receive four of these).

✨ Mushu may be one of the smallest villagers in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but he easily stands out thanks to his big personality and constant humour. Whether he’s offering questionable advice or hyping himself up as the Valley’s greatest guardian dragon, he definitely keeps things entertaining.

Seeing Mushu wandering the Valley alongside Mulan is a fun reminder of the story that brought them there, and together they add another unique piece of Disney history to Valley life.

Thanks for reading this Villager Overview! Mushu has now been added to the Villager Overviews hub, with more characters continuing to be added as the collection grows.
