✨ Sally is a lovely addition to Dreamlight Valley, bringing a little more of the wonderfully spooky world of The Nightmare Before Christmas to the Valley. Thoughtful, creative, and with a few surprises of her own, she has plenty to discover as you get to know her.
Even though I've had both Jack Skellington and Sally unlocked for a while now, it was lovely to have Sally join Jack in the Valley. I remember being so happy when she was added to the game! Her friendship quests explore her own interests and story, while her rewards include a mix of patchwork-inspired pieces that feel right at home with her distinctive look.
🔓 How To Unlock Sally
(Click on any image to enlarge)

Sally is unlocked through Jack Skellington's friendship quest, "The Woven Bridge." Before this quest becomes available, you'll first need to unlock Jack and Vanellope, complete the "Odds & Ends..." story quest, and finish Mirabel's Level 2 friendship quest, "Healing House." Once those requirements are met, Jack will send you a letter about a spider-related mystery at Anna's Castle. Entering Anna's castle after receiving his letter will start the quest, where you'll help Jack investigate the strange spiderwebs and discover a way to bring Sally back to the Valley. Completing the quest unlocks Sally and adds her to your character collection.
Sally lives with Jack in his tall, spooky house, perched on a rocky overlook. I love that she joins him there rather than needing a separate house, as it gives the two of them a little corner of the Valley to share. The house has such a distinctive Halloween Town look, and it works beautifully in the Forgotten Lands surrounded by twisted trees, pumpkins, and other spooky decorations.
📜 Sally’s Friendship Quests
Sally’s friendship quests give you a chance to learn more about her thoughtful nature, her interests, and her life alongside Jack. Here's the list of quests you'll unlock as your friendship grows:
Level 2: Uncanny Romance
Level 4: Decay to Grow
Level 7: Patchwork Party
Level 10: Preposterous Premonitions
There’s something calm about having Sally around the Valley. She has a quieter, more thoughtful presence, and I always look forward to spending more time with her as I work through various Valley tasks.
As with all villagers in the game, you can increase Sally’s friendship level through daily conversations, favourite gifts, completing quests, or asking her to hang out while you complete tasks around the Valley.
🎁 Sally’s Friendship Rewards
Sally’s friendship rewards carry her patchwork style into the Valley, with a mix of furniture, clothing, and other items to collect as you level up. I love how her distinctive design carries through the variety of rewards without making the different pieces feel too similar to each other.
Level 2: Haunted Patchwork Rug (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Striped Toe Socks (Clothing item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Spiral Hill Bed (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Patchwork Elegance Gown (Clothing item)
Including the level 10 reward listed above, the following rewards are unlocked by completing Sally’s friendship quests, rather than simply reaching each friendship level:
⭐ Level 4: Compost Bin (Furniture item)
⭐ Level 7: Dreamlight Memory Quilt (Furniture item)
⭐ Level 10: Web Lace Gloves, Black Rose Choker, and Patchwork Elegance Shoes (Clothing items)
You’ll find these quest-locked rewards highlighted in the image below.
Sally has such a distinctive look, and I love how her patchwork design carries through into her friendship rewards. There’s a lovely mix of pieces to collect, and I think all of her friendship rewards, including the motif designs, could work particularly well in a Halloween-themed space.
I really like how Sally brings another piece of The Nightmare Before Christmas into Dreamlight Valley. Having both her and Jack wandering around makes their little corner of the Valley feel even more complete, and I always look forward to spending time with them during Halloween season.
With Oogie Boogie recently added to the game, it felt like the perfect time to add Sally to my Villager Overview collection, especially after revisiting Jack's overview recently. I've still got plenty of characters to cover, and I'm looking forward to continuing to expand the collection with more Villager Overviews throughout the rest of the year.
I'll catch you in the next Cozy Valley Journal entry!
