✨ Villager Overview: Jafar

✨ This Villager Overview takes a darker turn, focusing on Jafar from Aladdin. Calculated, ambitious, and always a few steps ahead... or so he thinks. Jafar brings a more controlled, slightly unsettling energy to the Valley that feels completely different from most other villagers. From encountering him throughout the Eternity Isle storyline to finally unlocking him, Jafar’s presence builds over time - and when he does arrive, it definitely shifts the tone of the Valley in an interesting way ๐Ÿ‘ค (DLC: Eternity Isle)

๐Ÿ”“ How To Unlock Jafar
(Click on any image to enlarge)

Jafar is part of the Eternity Isle: A Rift in Time DLC. You’ll first encounter him as a hologram in the Plaza when beginning the expansion, before continuing through a series of story quests across Eternity Isle.

Unlike most villagers from Eternity Isle, Jafar cannot be unlocked early. He only becomes available after completing the final story quest, “The Lesser Evil,” where he is officially added to your collection.

Jafar’s presence in the Valley feels very intentional. He doesn’t just arrive - he lingers throughout the story before becoming fully accessible, which makes his eventual unlock feel a lot more impactful compared to other characters.

Jafar doesn’t bring his own home to the Valley. Instead, you’ll find his base of operations within the Agrabah Palace on Eternity Isle, which becomes accessible as you progress toward the end of the storyline.

๐Ÿ“œ Jafar’s Friendship Quests

Jafar’s quests lean heavily into manipulation, strategy, and control. They often feel less like helping and more like carefully navigating his requests - which fits perfectly with his character. Here are Jafar’s friendship quests in order:

Level 2: The Optics of a Second Chance
Level 4: The Alchemical Revolution
Level 7: The Serpent's Gift
Level 10: The Trial of Eternity
Level 10: Making Amends

Jafar has five friendship quests, and I’ve labelled “Making Amends” as an additional level 10 quest, as it begins after completing the prior quest “The Trial of Eternity.” You’ll notice there’s a very different tone to Jafar’s questline compared to most villagers. You’re not just completing tasks - you’re often questioning why you’re doing them, which adds an extra layer to the experience.

Don’t forget you can increase Jafar’s friendship level through daily conversations, giving favourite gifts, completing quests, or asking him to hang out… though that last option may feel slightly questionable. Eternity Isle also introduces a new hangout role, so naturally I allocated Jafar to the “Timebending” bonus.

๐ŸŽ Jafar’s Friendship Rewards

Jafar’s rewards lean into a darker, more regal aesthetic, with pieces that feel powerful, dramatic, and a little intimidating. They stand out quite heavily compared to softer or more neutral furniture sets.

Level 2: Royal Vizier's Chair (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Red Vizier Loafers (Clothing item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Vizier's Alchemy Table (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Jeweled Vizier Top (Clothing item)

⭐ Completing Jafar’s level 10 friendship quest also unlocks the Jeweled Vizier Trousers (Clothing item), pictured below.

The following rewards are unlocked by completing Jafar’s friendship quests, rather than simply reaching each level:

⭐ Level 2: Prism & Pedestal (Furniture item)
⭐ Level 7: Imagination Generator (Furniture item)
⭐ Level 10: Iago Statue (Furniture item)

You’ll find these quest locked rewards highlighted in the image below, including rewards from both of Jafar's level 10 friendship quests.

✨ Jafar has been one of the more interesting additions to the Valley - not necessarily because he’s likeable, but because of how different he feels compared to everyone else.

There’s a constant sense that he’s calculating something, even when he’s just wandering around. It adds a layer of tension that you don’t really get with other villagers, and I actually found that pretty refreshing.

His design is also spot on. The animations, the way he carries himself - everything about him feels deliberate and controlled, which suits his character perfectly. You may even catch him up to something questionable with his snake staff.

That said, he’s definitely not someone I’d want too many interactions with. There’s a balance to having him in the Valley that works best when he’s offset by more grounded or positive characters.

That wraps up this Villager Overview. Jafar has now been added to the Villager Overview hub, and if you're planning to unlock Aladdin or Jasmine, you'll find both those overviews there as well. I’m excited to keep adding more characters to the collection throughout the year, with one new character each week… or maybe more. Catch you in the next journal entry!

✨ Villager Overview: Aladdin

✨ This Villager Overview shifts into something a little more adventurous, focusing on Aladdin. Known for his quick thinking, charm, and street-smart nature, he brings a confident but grounded energy to the Valley that stands out in a really natural way.

From unlocking him in the Dream Castle to his friendship quests, Aladdin’s story leans into trust, growth, and finding where he truly belongs - all while keeping that playful edge that makes him such a likeable character.

๐Ÿ”“ How To Unlock Aladdin
(Click on any image to enlarge)

To unlock Aladdin, you’ll need to open the Aladdin Realm in the Dream Castle using Dreamlight and complete the “Carpet Diem” realm quest, which is the last in a series of six quests in the Aladdin Realm. During this quest, you’ll construct Aladdin and Jasmine’s House, and once it’s built, Aladdin will officially join your Valley. Note: The Aladdin Realm is MASSIVE! You may find yourself getting easily lost, but I absolutely loved completing all of these realm quests!

Aladdin’s home has a really strong visual presence without feeling overwhelming. It leans into that palace-inspired design, and I’ve found it works especially well placed near open areas and pairs nicely with the Agrabah Wall Set (premium shop item).

๐Ÿ“œ Aladdin's Friendship Quests

Aladdin’s quests feel very character-driven. They focus on trust, helping others, and occasionally proving himself - but without feeling overly serious. There’s a nice balance between lighthearted moments and more meaningful interactions. Here are Aladdin’s friendship quests in order:

Level 2: Good As Gold
Level 4: Bring Your Own Carpet
Level 7: All That Glitters
Level 10: Advanced Marketing

There’s a steady progression in his questline that makes it feel rewarding without dragging on. It’s easy to get through, but still engaging enough that it doesn’t feel forgettable.

To increase Aladdin’s friendship level, be sure to have daily conversations with him or give one of his favourite gifts (or two… or three!). To help speed up the process, you can also ask Aladdin to hang out while you complete tasks around the Valley.

๐ŸŽ Aladdin’s Friendship Rewards

Aladdin’s rewards lean into a rich, vibrant aesthetic, pulling from Agrabah-inspired designs. There’s a good range of decorative pieces and character-inspired items that feel a little more bold compared to some of the softer furniture sets.

Level 2: Tasseled Red Cushion (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Desert Bloom Coffee Table (Furniture item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Red Nook Window (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Diamond in the Rough Top (Clothing item)

⭐ Completing Aladdin's level 10 friendship quest also unlocks additional rewards. You'll receive three clothing items: Diamond in the Rough Trousers, Diamond in the Rough Loafers, and Diamond in the Rough Vest - and the following furniture items:

- Custom Signpost (set of 2)
- Clay Marketplace Jars (set of 4)
- Marketplace Fruit Baskets (set of 4)
- Marketplace Vessels (set of 4)
- Large Marketplace Chest (and the crafting recipe)
- Small Marketplace Chest (and the crafting recipe)
- Aladdin's Gem Stall

The following rewards are also unlocked by completing Aladdin’s friendship quests, rather than simply reaching each level:

⭐ Level 4: Dreamlight Magic Carpet (Glider)
⭐ Level 7: Golden Tea Set (Furniture item)

You’ll find these quest-locked rewards highlighted in the images below (click to enlarge).

๐Ÿงบ Aladdin’s Gem Stall

Aladdin’s Gem Stall is unlocked during his level 10 friendship quest and introduces a new way to collect gems without needing to mine them yourself.

The stall offers a selection of three gems that rotate daily, with only limited quantities available. Once upgraded, it expands to include six slots, giving you a bit more variety when checking in each day.

It’s one of those features that becomes more useful over time, especially if you’re working through crafting, quests, or just want a more consistent way to gather specific gems without relying entirely on mining routes. Sometimes it helps to randomly have that one gem you need, and it just so happens to be available at the stall — I love it when that happens.

Once Aladdin’s Gem Stall is
unlocked, it can be placed anywhere in the Valley, and additional versions can also be set up in each DLC area that you have, offering a variety of gems that are unique to the DLC its placed in.

✨ Aladdin has easily been one of my favourite villagers to add to the Valley - definitely sitting somewhere in my top five. He strikes a really good balance between confidence and humility, which makes him feel a lot more grounded compared to some of the bigger personalities.

There’s something about his overall presence that just works. Whether he’s wandering through the Valley or interacting with other villagers, he feels like he belongs there without needing to steal the spotlight.

I also really enjoyed his questline. It never felt repetitive, and there’s enough variety in what you’re doing to keep things interesting the whole way through. And while the Gem Stall is a great addition from a gameplay perspective, it also fits his character surprisingly well - it feels like something he’d naturally set up.

If you’re looking to unlock Jasmine as well, you can check out her Villager Overview here.

That wraps up this Villager Overview - thanks so much for reading! Aladdin has now been added to the Villager Overview hub, and I’ll be looking to add more characters to the collection soon, with Jafar coming next!

✨ Villager Overview: Jasmine

✨ Next up in my Villager Overviews is Jasmine - the fearless and compassionate princess who brings strength, grace, and a sense of adventure to Disney Dreamlight Valley. In this entry, I’m sharing a closer look at Jasmine in the Valley - from how to unlock her to her friendship quests and more.

๐Ÿ”“ How To Unlock Jasmine
(Click on any image to enlarge)

Jasmine is unlocked through the Aladdin Realm, which can be accessed through the Dream Castle and will require Dreamlight to unlock. Dreamlight is obtained by completing duties in the Dreamlight Menu, or can be crafted with Dream Shard.

To add Jasmine to the Valley, you’ll need to complete all Aladdin realm quests. After completing the sixth and final realm quest 'Carpet Diem', Jasmine will make her way to the Valley and officially join your villager collection. Part of this quest will require you to add 'Aladdin and Jasmine's House' to the valley before Jasmine arrives.

Jasmine’s home reflects her royal roots while still feeling warm and inviting, and is one of my favourite decorated homes in the game, showcasing some lovely Agrabah-style pieces, most of which you'll discover can be added to your furniture collection as you continue playing. With its elegant design and subtle nods to Agrabah, her home fits beautifully in any sunny or desert-inspired areas of the Valley, adding a touch of calm sophistication wherever it’s placed. I have her home placed in The Fiery Plains, which is part of the Storybook Vale DLC.

๐Ÿ“œ Complete Jasmine Friendship Quest List

Jasmine’s friendship quests focus on independence, leadership, and staying true to yourself. As you increase her friendship level through conversations, gifts, and quests, you’ll unlock story moments inspired by her journey beyond palace walls. Below are the quests you'll encounter as you level up Jasmine:

Level 2: The Enchanted Flower
Level 4: A Sandy Competition
Level 7: Hot and Cold
Level 10: Wild, Wild Wishes

To increase Jasmine’s friendship level, give her favourite gifts (up to three per day, which reset daily), speak with her daily, and hang out together while exploring or completing tasks, as with all villagers.

๐ŸŽ Jasmine’s Friendship Rewards

As you build friendship with Jasmine, you’ll unlock rewards inspired by Agrabah and her adventurous spirit. These items blend elegance with practicality and are perfect for adding a refined, storybook feel to your Valley builds.

Level 2: Ornate Blue Door (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Elegant Chaise (Furniture item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Pillar and Curtains (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Desert Bloom Necklace (Clothing item; unlocks when completing the level 10 friendship quest)

⭐ Completing Jasmine’s level 10 friendship quest also unlocks the Desert Bloom Top (Clothing item), Desert Bloom Trousers (Clothing item)Desert Bloom Slip-Ons (Clothing item), and The Enchanted Flower (Furniture item).

Completing the level 10 friendship quest also unlocks 'The Secret Journal' quest item, which currently has no use - although I have transferred this item into one of my storage chests for safekeeping, as it may be needed in future.

✨ Jasmine was one of my favourite new characters to be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley in 2025. I loved everything from her questline to all the furniture pieces tied into her update. Building multiple markets across the Valley with the stalls added with her update was lots of fun and is something I've continued to do. I hope more different stall types are added in future!

Thanks for joining me for today’s Villager Overview! Jasmine has now been added to the Villager Overviews hub - be sure to check back as more characters continue to join the Valley ๐Ÿ“–
