✨ The latest Disney Dreamlight Valley update has brought with it two returning Halloween events, with the second of the two now available in the Valley! The Trick or Treat Event has returned, running from October 14 until October 31, with plenty of candy to collect and seasonal rewards to unlock.
During the event, you'll find three different coloured Candy Bowls appearing in the Plaza. Each bowl provides two pieces of candy when collected, which can be eaten, gifted to Villagers or used to craft some of the event's exclusive items.

This year also introduces a new way to collect candy, with the ability to go trick-or-treating at select Villager houses! There are also some brand-new Halloween Town decorations to unlock, giving us even more spooky items to add to our Valleys.
I've put together a complete look at the event, including where to find the candy, how often it appears, and everything you'll need to do to unlock each reward 🎃

🍬 Collecting Candy
Throughout the event, you'll find three different coloured Candy Bowls in the Plaza. Each bowl contains two pieces of candy in its matching colour, giving you Green Candy, Red Candy or Purple Candy to use throughout the event.
Here's how often you can find them:
- Green Candy Bowl: Provides 2 Green Candy.
- Red Candy Bowl: Provides 2 Red Candy.
- Purple Candy Bowl: Provides 2 Purple Candy.
From October 14 until October 30, two Candy Bowls of each colour appear every 24 hours. On Halloween itself, October 31, two of each colour will appear every hour instead! You can have up to five bowls of each colour present in the Valley at any one time.
One of the new additions for 2026 is the ability to trick-or-treat at select Villager houses. Each day, look for a lit Jack-O'-Lantern outside the house of one of the following Villagers:
- Mickey Mouse
- WALL-E
- Daisy
- Stitch
- Mike Wazowski
- Jack Skellington
Interact with the lit Jack-O'-Lantern to start a special trick-or-treat interaction. Each time you do, you'll receive 5 Green Candy, 5 Red Candy and 5 Purple Candy. The Jack-O'-Lanterns become available again after the daily reset.
This is a great way to stock up on candy, especially if you're hoping to craft the new Halloween Town decorations. Be sure to check the eligible houses each day so you don't miss out!

👻 Haunted Well Puzzle
The Haunted Well returns as part of this year's Trick or Treat event, giving you another spooky piece of furniture to unlock if you missed out on it previously. You'll need to have the Forest of Valor unlocked to complete this puzzle.
During the event, look for a red chest in the Plaza. Inside you'll find a Memory containing a clue to the puzzle. The clue will help you work out how much candy you'll need to transfer to the Haunted Well that has appeared in the Forest of Valor.
Once you've found the well, interact with it and transfer the following amounts of candy: 15 Green Candy, 10 Red Candy, 5 Purple Candy.
🎁 Transferring the correct amounts of candy completes the puzzle, and you'll unlock the Haunted Well furniture item.
Halloween is my favourite theme of the year, so I'm always happy to see these seasonal events return to Dreamlight Valley! Although the Trick or Treat event has appeared in previous years, I appreciate having six new Halloween Town furniture items to unlock this year.
I especially like that the new decorations require candy in their crafting recipes, giving me another reason to keep trick-or-treating and collecting as much candy as possible. I can already see myself using these pieces to create some spooky themed areas around the Valley, and I'm looking forward to crafting as many of them as I can!
There's a generous number of rewards to collect throughout this event, from the returning pumpkin decorations to the new Halloween Town items. If you've missed any of the previous rewards, this is also a great opportunity to catch up on your collection.
With the event running until October 31, there's still time to gather your candy, work through the event duties and unlock all the rewards. Happy trick-or-treating!
Thanks for reading along, and be sure to check out more Dreamlight Valley guides across the blog. I'll see you in the next entry! 📝
