✨ The next free content update is scheduled for sometime later this month - although a date is yet to be announced - and I'm really looking forward to seeing what's coming next. With a new update, that also means the current Star Path is due to wrap up, and there's now just one more week to go.
In today's journal entry, I'll be talking about some of the Pop City Star Path rewards and sharing my thoughts on what was included in this event. I wasn't too fussed with most of the items that came with this Star Path, but there were definitely some standout pieces when I first browsed through the catalogue - the Valley Tram, Dreamlight Bus Stop, and without a doubt, the San Fransokyo Square Archway. Once I unlocked them and was able to actually use them in the game, I was pretty happy with how they looked, and the archway in particular was impressive. Even though this isn't my favourite Star Path, I'm absolutely content with completing these events to make sure I've collected everything available.
I was happy to pace myself with this Star Path, having completed the main duties a few weeks ago and then gradually unlocking the Bonus and Vault rewards as the weeks continued. As usual, the catalogue included a mix of furniture and wardrobe items, a companion, a couple of Dream Styles, motifs, a picture frame, and roughly 1,900 Moonstones.
The Pop City Star Path definitely had a very unique theme. I loved the look of the rewards and furniture pieces, with that bright neon colour palette running through much of the collection like a wildfire. I don't see myself decorating most of my Valley with these colours in mind, but I can absolutely appreciate the aesthetic this set brought with it. I'd happily dedicate a small space or two to these items, while also picking out individual pieces to work into more general builds around the Valley.
If you remember my previous Star Path review, Godly Glamor was easily my standout Star Path of the year - so perhaps my expectations are just a little high right now!
There were still plenty of pieces in Pop City that caught my attention, though. The Nineties Nostalgia Backpack was a fun wardrobe addition with its bright colours, while the Fun Bun Plushie is exactly the kind of little decorative piece I love adding around my builds.
The Valley Tram and Dreamlight Bus Stop were another great pairing, and I really enjoyed being able to place them together to create a little more of a city-style environment. The San Fransokyo Food Stall was another favourite for me, especially as someone who loves creating little market areas - I can already see this one fitting into a range of different stalls and food-market setups.
But my ultimate favourite piece? Definitely the San Fransokyo Square Archway!
It's large, you can walk straight through it, and I love that you can even partially hide it behind larger buildings while still seeing parts of the archway as you approach the area. It gives the space a much grander feeling without needing to completely redesign everything around it.

Add some fireworks, themed pathways and lighting, and you could easily turn a small section of the Valley into a little mini city where everything is happening. That's exactly the kind of furniture piece I appreciate - something that can make a bigger impact without needing an entire collection to make it work.
And then there's the Calico Kitten 🥹 Another adorable companion has made its way into Dreamlight Valley, and I'm so glad this little one was included in the Star Path. I can never complain about having another cute companion following me around the Valley!
The clothing rewards weren't quite as exciting for me, mainly because I can't actually wear most of the pieces with my avatar. That said, there were a few that I could see myself using, including the 4*Town Jesse Jeans, 4*Town Jesse Shirt, and Yesss Visor Glasses. Those are the kinds of wardrobe pieces I appreciate - something I can actually mix into my avatar's usual look rather than simply collecting them for the sake of completion.
I also have to give a quick mention to the Neon Recording Booth, which I think is a really cute addition. I can see this working particularly well alongside some of the existing Wreck-It Ralph furniture pieces, creating a fun little entertainment or gaming area without needing to rely solely on the new Star Path items.
One of the other things I really appreciated about this Star Path was the Dreamlight Corner Store. This is a furniture piece rather than a House Dream Style, which means you can purchase and place multiple copies - and honestly, I'd love to see more buildings like this in future Star Paths! Being able to place a few of these side by side made the whole setup feel larger and much more like an actual little shopping area. It gives you so much more freedom when decorating compared to having a single building that can only be placed once.
The Dreamlight City Apartment, on the other hand, is a House Dream Style, and while it isn't my favourite house we've had, I didn't mind it at all. I actually really liked how well it connected visually with the Dreamlight Corner Store, and I could see these working together nicely as part of a larger city-inspired area... and a couple of those San Fransokyo Square Archway pieces in the background!
I'm also starting to warm up to the idea of Vault Rewards, which continues to provide a mix of newly added items alongside a small selection of existing rewards from previous Star Paths. This particular selection didn't include any of the "recycled skins" we've seen before. Instead, there were three newly added items, alongside four items that were previously available through The Night Show Star Path from October-November 2024.
Overall, Pop City wasn't a Star Path that immediately won me over, and it still isn't one of my favourites. But there were definitely some gems hidden throughout the catalogue, and once I started thinking about how individual pieces could work within my existing builds, I found myself appreciating the collection much more.
The San Fransokyo Square Archway is an absolute winner for me, and the combination of the Valley Tram, Dreamlight Bus Stop, Corner Store and Food Stall gives us some really fun opportunities for smaller city and market builds. Add in an adorable Calico Kitten and a few wearable pieces, and there's definitely more here than my first impression suggested.
