✨ Top 5 Journal Entries: August

✨ August was a much quieter month for me personally when it came to sharing guides, but there was still plenty happening in the Valley.

Having a slower month has given me the chance to properly recharge, and I’m feeling ready to get back into the swing of things in September and prepare for everything that’s coming next. We should hopefully be hearing some news from Gameloft within the next week or two about the next free content update, and alongside all that excitement, there's also one more Valley event arriving in September: Memory Mania!

For today’s entry, I’ve put together my Top 5 Journal Entries from August. I’ve really loved putting all of these posts together, and there’s still plenty more to come. This month’s favourites cover a little bit of everything, from crafting and cooking to a redemption code! Just keep in mind that the redemption code may have expired, but if you missed it when it was originally shared, it’s still worth giving it a try.

Here are the top five entries that made the list in August:

Be sure to browse through the rest of the blog too, where you’ll find plenty of other entries to explore. I’ll be adding new posts regularly as I continue working through recipes, finishing character quests, and chatting about upcoming updates.

I’ll see you in the next Cozy Valley Journal entry

✨ The Grand Exhibition: Frosted Heights

✨ Today's journal entry covers the Frosted Heights Exhibit in the Grand Exhibition, the latest room to become available within Olaf's growing collection of Valley exhibits.

With its snowy paths, icy landscapes and cozy winter atmosphere, Frosted Heights has always been one of those biomes that feels a little different from the rest of the Valley. Now, there's another reason to wander through the snow and gather everything needed to bring its Exhibition room to life.

In this guide, I'll walk through each display, the items needed to complete them, and all of the rewards waiting once the room is finished.

What is Olaf’s Grand Exhibition?
(Click on any image to enlarge)

The Grand Exhibition is a special hub where items collected throughout the Valley can be placed on display. Each biome has its own dedicated room, with three displays - the Aquarium, Diorama and Habitat - built around the resources, collectibles and companions associated with that area.

As more rooms become available, the Exhibition continues to grow into a lovely little collection of spaces, each with its own theme and personality.

Frosted Heights Exhibit Overview

The Frosted Heights exhibit is divided into three displays: the Aquarium, Diorama and Habitat. Each one has two stages to complete, gradually filling the room with everything collected from this snowy corner of the Valley.

The Aquarium focuses on gems and fish, the Diorama combines flowers with blueprint builds, and the Habitat brings together food and companions.

🐟 Aquarium (Gems & Fish)

To complete the Aquarium:

Step 1: Collect all gems found in Frosted Heights
(Shiny Tourmaline, Tourmaline, Onyx, Shiny Amethyst, Amethyst)

Step 2: Collect all fish available in the biome
(Bass, Salmon, Tilapia, White Sturgeon, Crab)

All the gems and fish you need for this display are highlighted in the image above.

❄️ Diorama (Flowers & Blueprints)

The Diorama follows its own two-stage progression:

Step 1: Collect all flowers from Frosted Heights
(Blue Passion Lily, Black Passion Lily, Green Passion Lily,
Red Passion Lily, White Passion Lily)

Step 2: Complete two blueprint builds using gathered materials
(See image above for the full list)

The four Diorama builds have their own snowy themes, with materials from Snowballs, Iron Ore, Blue Passion Lily, Hardwood, Soil, Green Passion Lily and more. All required flowers and resources to complete the dioramas are highlighted in the image above.

🦊 Habitat (Food & Companions)

To complete the Habitat:

Step 1: Collect all food items tied to Frosted Heights
(Cherry, Gooseberry, Eggplant, Asparagus, Cucumber, Mint)

Step 2: Unlock all fox companions from this biome
(Black Fox, Blue Fox, Classic Fox, Red Fox, White Fox)

All required food and companions are highlighted in the image above. Before you can add any of the foxes to the exhibit, you'll need to make sure they've been unlocked in your collection.

 🎁 Rewards

Each completed display comes with its own reward, with one final reward waiting once all three sections of the Frosted Heights exhibit have been completed.

Aquarium Reward: Frosted Heights Aquarium
Diorama Reward: Set of 4 Frosted Heights Dioramas
Habitat Reward: Frosted Heights Companion House

Exhibit Room Completion Reward: Frosted Heights Puffy Parka

I have to say, there's something particularly fitting about having a snowy Exhibition room tucked away inside the Grand Exhibition. The Frosted Heights displays bring together some of the biome's most recognisable resources, and I really enjoyed seeing everything gradually come together. For me, this exhibit has the best of the companion houses so far - I love the theming and the lights, and if the game permits, I think it's something I may use over in the Wishing Alps, perhaps in Delver Dale or Wishing Way.

It's also been fun watching this collection of rooms grow with each new biome. What started with Peaceful Meadow and Dazzle Beach has slowly turned into a much bigger showcase of the Valley - and I'm looking forward to completing all of the Valley biomes and seeing what rewards the remaining rooms provide.

If you're working through the other exhibits too, you can explore the Peaceful Meadow, Dazzle Beach, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust and Sunlit Plateau guides for their full requirements and rewards here.

I'll continue adding Exhibition guides as more rooms become available. With the next free content update dropping sometime toward the end of September, I'm looking forward to seeing the final two Valley rooms being added! Thanks for stopping by and reading through, and I'll catch you in the next journal entry.

✨ Premium Shop: Village Schoolyard Set

✨ The Village Schoolyard Set is another cute little kit to add to the collection, and I was pleasantly surprised by just how large these pieces are! I really love the Village Schoolhouse Entry - it makes such a lovely focal point with its bright colours, charming details, and larger scale, and I can already picture it becoming the centrepiece of a schoolyard build.

The Schoolhouse Entry definitely caught my attention first. It has so much character and feels substantial enough to really anchor a build, while the colourful details give it that cheerful village-school feeling. I also love that the three pieces can be used together to create a more complete schoolyard, or mixed in with other furniture depending on the kind of space I’m trying to create.

I’m curious to see how this set works outside of the more obvious schoolyard setting. I keep thinking about taking it over to the Bind in Storybook Vale and playing around with it there. The colourful, storybook feel seems like it could fit surprisingly well, and I’m always happy when a Premium Shop purchase gives me an excuse to experiment somewhere I might not have considered before.

Overall, this feels like another really fun kit to have in the decorating collection. I’m not sure exactly where it will end up yet, and I’ll most likely use it across a few different biomes for a different vibe depending on where it is. I'm excited to experiment with different pathing and tree options, leading up to the Village Schoolhouse Entry.

Village Schoolyard Chalk Gazebo (Furniture Item)

✨ Villager Overview: Piglet

✨ The Winnie the Pooh Villager Overviews continue through the Honeyglow Woods, this time focusing on Piglet. Sweet, thoughtful, and often a little unsure of himself, Piglet brings a much gentler energy to the Valley - but there’s a quiet bravery underneath it all that makes him incredibly endearing.

After Tigger’s endless energy and Eeyore’s wonderfully gloomy outlook, Piglet feels like a lovely middle ground. He may not always feel brave, but watching him work through those little moments of uncertainty is what makes his character so special.

🔓 How To Unlock Piglet
(Click on any image to enlarge)

Piglet is part of the Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack and is unlocked through the Honeyglow Woods storyline. After progressing through the story, you’ll eventually reach him in Braveheart Grove, and is unlocked after completing the "Chapter 9: How to Meet a Best Friend (Again)" story quest. Completing this story quest officially welcomes Piglet to the Honeyglow Woods and adds him to your character collection.

Piglet’s House is already placed and constructed in Braveheart Grove when he is unlocked, so there’s no additional home-building step needed before he joins the Valley. His home is a large tree, which feels like such a fitting choice for him and blends beautifully into the surrounding woodland.

I really like how naturally Piglet’s home fits into Braveheart Grove. It feels cozy without being overly decorated, and I can easily imagine building a little woodland area around it with paths, flowers, and some of the softer Honeyglow Woods furniture.

📜 Piglet’s Friendship Quests

Piglet’s friendship quests have a much more gentle feel than Tigger’s, with plenty of moments that highlight his thoughtful nature and the courage he has beneath his nervousness. There’s something particularly sweet about watching Piglet become a little more confident as his friendship progresses. Here are the four friendship quests available from Piglet, with the first one available as soon as he is unlocked:

Level -: The Most Unexpected Friend
Level 4: After the Rain
Level 7: Collecting Little Wins
Level 10: Piglet the Caretaker

I really enjoyed the focus on Piglet’s character throughout these quests. His story doesn’t need huge dramatic moments to be meaningful - some of the smaller interactions are what make his friendship feel so genuine.

You can increase Piglet’s friendship level through daily conversations, favourite gifts, completing quests, or asking him to hang out while you complete tasks around the Valley.

🎁 Piglet’s Friendship Rewards

Piglet’s friendship rewards fit beautifully alongside the wider Honeyglow Woods collection, with a cozy woodland style that feels especially suited to Braveheart Grove. There’s a lovely mix of practical furniture and softer decorative pieces, along with a clothing collection that leans into Piglet’s signature pink.

Level 2: Cozy Woodland Lamp (Furniture item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Woodland Stone Fireplace (Furniture item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Honeyglow Crafting Station (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Club Meeting Podium (Furniture item)

Including the level 10 reward listed above, the following rewards are unlocked by completing Piglet's friendship quests, rather than simply reaching each friendship level:

⭐ Level -: Rustic Jacuzzi (Furniture item; crafting recipe)
⭐ Level 4: Bumble Breeze Umbrella (Clothing item)
⭐ Level 7: Safety Pillow (3); and Little Wins Leaderboard (Furniture items)
⭐ Level 10: Blush-Pink Brave Hat, Green Brave Scarf, Blush-Pink Brave Vest, Blush-Pink Brave Sneakers, Blush-Pink Brave Bomber Jacket, and Blush-Pink Brave Jeans (Clothing items)

You can find all these quest-locked rewards highlighted in the images below.

✨ Piglet has such a lovely presence in the Valley. There’s something wholesome about seeing him interact with the other Winnie the Pooh characters, too. Having Piglet, Eeyore, and Winnie the Pooh together makes the Honeyglow Woods collection feel much more complete, and I’m excited to build a quiet, cozy area in Braveheart Grove with Piglet's House nearby.

I love how well Piglet fits into Braveheart Grove. His home feels like it belongs there, and the softer furniture from his friendship rewards works beautifully with the natural woodland aesthetic.

More than anything, I think Piglet is a really nice reminder that bravery doesn't always have to look dramatic. Sometimes it's simply doing something that scares you anyway, and that feels like such a fitting part of his character.

With Piglet now covered, the Honeyglow Woods Winnie the Pooh collection is almost complete - and next week, it’s finally time for Pooh Bear!

That wraps up this Villager Overview - thanks so much for reading! Piglet has now been added to the Villager Overview Hub, and I’m looking forward to finishing this little Winnie the Pooh collection next week with Winnie the Pooh himself 🍯

✨ Cooking Recipes From Storybook Vale | Entrees: Part 3

✨ Another batch of Storybook Vale entrées is ready for the table! This collection of 16 recipes has a wonderfully rustic feel, from seafood dishes like Lupine Cullen Skink and Mussel Risotto to simple sides, roasted vegetables, and an entire little collection of salt-pickled ingredients. It’s a quieter selection than some of the more elaborate Vale recipes, but it's great to have this variety.

Oatmeal and Olive Plate are wonderfully simple, while the roasted vegetable dishes feel like the sort of meals I’d happily have sitting on a table after a day spent gathering ingredients around the Vale. There’s something really satisfying about recipes that don't need to be overly complicated to look like they belong in a lived-in kitchen.

The pickled recipes are probably the most distinctive part of this batch. Salt-Pickled Cauliflower, Salt-Pickled Garlic, Salt-Pickled Green Beans, Salt-Pickled Radicchio, Salt-Pickled Radish, and Salt-Pickled Sea Grapes make up quite the little collection, and I actually love seeing them grouped together. They feel less like individual “main character” meals and more like the sort of homemade ingredients you'd find tucked away in a well-stocked kitchen.

Then you have the Persimmon Chia Pancakes, bringing something a little sweeter and more playful into the entrée category. And honestly, Roasted Barley & Veggies feels like exactly the kind of simple, wholesome dish that would look lovely as part of a larger dining spread.

What I've enjoyed most while cataloguing Storybook Vale is discovering these little groups within the larger recipe collection. You start with a list of individual meals, but once they're all photographed and displayed together, you begin to see the different themes and ingredients running through the Vale's cooking. This batch definitely has that home-cooked, pantry-staple feeling to it, and I think it'll be a lovely addition to the growing catalogue.

How to Cook These Recipes
(Click on any image to enlarge)

These recipes combine ingredients gathered mostly throughout Storybook Vale, alongside a selection of familiar staples from the main Valley. There’s a nice balance here between ingredients that feel very specific to the Vale and recipes that make use of everyday ingredients you may already have stocked, which makes this collection feel fairly approachable.

You can also find a full breakdown of each recipe featured in this entry below, including ingredients, star ratings, Energy values, and Star Coin sell prices. The Energy and Star Coin values may vary depending on the ingredients used - especially when recipes allow for generic items like “Any Fruit” or when extra ingredients are added. The Energy and Star Coin amounts listed below are the minimum amounts.

If you're following along with my Storybook Vale cooking catalogue, you can also check out all of the Storybook Vale recipes here and continue exploring the recipes I've already catalogued from the Vale.

Thanks for joining me in today’s cooking journal entry. I’m really enjoying working my way through the Storybook Vale entrée collection, one batch at a time, and there’s still one more Entree entry to catalogue before this section is complete. Be sure to check back for the next set of recipes!
