✨ The Whispers of the Wind Update Arrives Tomorrow!

✨ A new chapter begins in the Valley with the next Disney Dreamlight Valley update - Whispers of the Wind - arriving tomorrow, and it’s bringing a whole new sense of calm, curiosity, and adventure with it.

From the very first teaser, this update has felt different. Like the Valley is about to tell a quieter, more meaningful story - one that invites you to slow down and take it all in. And now, with the release just around the corner, the excitement is only getting stronger.

With Pocahontas officially joining the Valley, Whispers of the Wind is bringing an entire range of new features. This update isn’t just about what’s being added - it’s also about how it feels to step into it. And every time a new update drops, that sense of excitement is always real.

With so much included - from new story content and quests, to companions, events, and Star Path content - there’s a lot to look forward to. What are you most excited for in this update?

While Pocahontas is the star of this update, a close second for me is the new story arriving through the mysterious door in the Dream Castle… and what lies beyond it.

Whispers of the Wind drops very soon, with release times varying depending on your region. I’ve shared a breakdown below to help you plan your start time - whether you’re logging in first thing or saving it for a cozy session later in the day. For me, the update falls into the 11pm Australian (EST) timeslot... so I'll have the game updating overnight, ready for gameplay nice and early on April 9! I’m definitely a little envious of those who get to jump in right as it goes live.

The Dreamlight Valley team also recently released this update’s patch notes, giving us a bit more insight into what’s coming, along with a range of bug fixes for issues that have been affecting some players. The patch notes also mention new clothing items arriving in Scrooge’s store with this update, as well as a new set of furniture items (super yay!) becoming available once Pocahontas officially joins your Valley.

There’s something really special about that moment when an update becomes available - logging in for the first time, seeing the new artwork on the loading screen... it makes the Valley feel brand new again, even if you’ve been playing for months.

With Whispers of the Wind arriving tomorrow, this feels like the beginning of a fresh chapter - not just for the game, but for how the Valley continues to grow. I’ll be sharing more as everything unfolds, including deeper looks at the update, guides, and upcoming content.

▶️ If you’re getting ready for launch, you can check out my Whispers of the Wind developer update recap video here, along with a separate video on how to prep for the update here.

✨ Thanks for joining me in today’s entry. I hope you enjoy stepping into Whispers of the Wind and everything it brings to your Valley.

If you’d like to keep up with everything as it unfolds, you can find all my socials linked on the side - feel free to join in on the update fun as I post along. I’ll be sharing updates, guides, and more very soon! ๐Ÿ‚

✨ Villager Overview: Moana

✨ This Villager Overview shines a light on one of the Valley’s most inspiring additions - Moana. With her strong sense of purpose and deep connection to the ocean, she brings a calm, confident energy that feels both grounding and uplifting at the same time.

From unlocking her in the Dream Castle to progressing through her friendship quests, Moana’s journey is centred around courage, exploration, and staying true to who you are - which comes through beautifully in both her storylines and overall presence in the Valley.

๐Ÿ”“ How To Unlock Moana
(Click on any image to enlarge)

To unlock Moana, you’ll need to open the Moana Realm in the Dream Castle and complete the “How Far You’ll Go” realm quest. During this quest, you’ll construct Moana’s Fale - her home in the Valley - and once it’s built, Moana is officially unlocked and added to your collection.

Moana’s home is one of the most peaceful designs in the game. It leans into a natural, coastal aesthetic that fits beautifully into beach builds, but also works surprisingly well when styled into more tropical or relaxed areas of the Valley. It’s simple, but in a way that feels intentional and very true to her character. With Pocahontas arriving later this week, I can already picture the two of them sharing a space somewhere in the Valley. I’m considering setting them up together along the secluded beach in Pixie Acres, or in the biome just before entering the shoreline.

๐Ÿ“œ Moana's Friendship Quests

Moana’s quests reflect her leadership and determination, while still keeping a softer, more personal tone. They often focus on helping others, reconnecting with nature, and building confidence - both for herself and the villagers around her.

Here are Moana’s friendship quests in order:

Level 2: Fixing the Boat
Level 4: Peacemakers
Level 6: The Remembering
Level 8: The Search for Pua
Level 10: The Ceremony

There’s a really nice sense of progression throughout her quests. They start off fairly simple, but gradually build into more meaningful moments that feel rewarding without becoming overwhelming.

As with other villagers, you can increase friendship levels by having daily conversations, giving favourite gifts, completing quests, or asking Moana to hang out as you complete tasks around the Valley.

๐ŸŽ Moana’s Friendship Rewards

Moana’s rewards lean into a coastal, island-inspired aesthetic, with pieces that feel light, natural, and easy to incorporate into a range of builds. There’s a really nice balance between decorative items and practical pieces here.

Level 2: Pink Woven Camisole (Clothing item)
Level 3: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 4: 500 Star Coins
Level 5: Cooking Fire Pit (Furniture item)
Level 6: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
Level 8: Conch Shell (Furniture item)
Level 9: Design Motif (Customisable)
Level 10: Tropical Flourish Gown (Clothing item)

The following rewards are unlocked by completing Moana’s friendship quests, rather than simply reaching each level:

⭐ Level 2: Moana's Boat
⭐ Level 8: Pua (Companion)

You’ll find these highlighted in the image below.

๐Ÿงบ Moana’s Boat

Moana’s Boat is unlocked during her level 2 friendship quest and is a useful villager service in the game.

It provides free fish over time, which you can collect and use for cooking, quests, gifting to villagers or selling. The boat can also be upgraded using Star Coins, increasing the number of fish you collect while reducing the amount of Energy used during fishing with each level upgrade. At level 10 of Moana's boat upgrade, you can collect a maximum of 20 fish and you'll get a 20% reduction in Energy used when finishing, with the final boat upgrade at level 11 introducing rare fish into the rotation.

Once unlocked, it can be placed anywhere in the Valley, and additional versions can be placed in each DLC area, offering fish unique to that region.

Personally, this is one of those features I didn’t fully appreciate at first - but over time, it’s become something I check constantly. It’s a simple system, but incredibly effective, especially if you’re working through cooking recipes or just want a steady supply of resources without actively fishing.

✨ Moana has quickly become one of the most naturally fitting villagers in the Valley. She brings a sense of calm confidence that balances out some of the more chaotic personalities, and there’s something really nice about seeing her walking along the shoreline or near the water.

Her design, animations, and overall presence feel incredibly polished - and paired with her home and boat, she adds a strong thematic identity to any area you place her in.

If you’re building out beach or tropical spaces, Moana is easily one of the best characters to centre those builds around.

That wraps up this Villager Overview - thanks so much for reading! Moana has now been added to the Villager Overview hub, and I’ll continue building out the collection with more characters soon.

✨ Next Update: Whispers of the Wind Arrives April 8th!

The next free content update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, titled Whispers of the Wind, arrives on April 8 - and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting updates yet. In today’s entry, I’ll go over some of the details revealed in this week’s developer updates.

This update introduces a new character, companions, story content, features, and limited-time events - with so much to look forward to. Let's get into it!

Pocahontas Arrives in the Valley

One of the biggest highlights of this update is the arrival of Pocahontas. I’m especially intrigued by how she enters the Valley - she doesn’t have her own Realm, yet her arrival is tied to a brand new area added to the game. You’ll unlock her with the help of another villager, following swirling leaves to a magical new island. Along the way, you’ll complete special Memories before welcoming her into your Valley. It’ll be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

Pocahontas will come with her own house, friendship quests, and rewards. Meeko is also coming along, and my guess is he’ll be tied to one of her friendship quests to unlock him.

A Brand New Mystery Story Begins

Whispers of the Wind also marks the start of a brand new storyline. From what Gameloft has teased, this appears to begin inside the Dream Castle, where a mysterious new door has appeared - hinting at a deeper narrative to come. Another layer of mystery added to the Valley, and my curiosity is definitely peaked.

Elements of Nature Star Path & Vault Feature

A new Star Path titled Elements of Nature will be available, bringing a fresh set of themed rewards. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this theme just yet, but I’m happy to wait and see the full set before judging.

Alongside this, a new Vault feature is being introduced, allowing you to earn select rewards from previous Star Paths by completing routine duties - a welcome addition if you missed out before. For those who already own these items though - myself included - I’m curious to see what additional value or surprises this feature might bring.

Premium Shop Additions & Limited-Time Events

The Premium Shop will also receive a range of new items, including Swirling Wind Leaves, a new skin design for Goofy’s Stall and the Wishing Well, and another surprise companion… Percy. I’m sure there will be a few extra surprises mixed into the weekly rotation as well.

Two events have also been confirmed as part of this update. The first is a spring-themed Floating Festival begins on April 29 - and while the floating island concept returns, the event theme itself is new. I love the idea of expanding these seasonal events into something more visually unique.

The second event is the return of the Treasure Hunt on May 27, which from memory is a smaller event - but still a fun one to revisit.

Olaf’s Grand Exhibition

One of the biggest new features coming with this update is Olaf’s Grand Exhibition - and this was something I did not expect at all.

When I first saw the teaser of Olaf’s building, I genuinely thought it might have been leading into an April Fools joke - so I’m very glad that wasn’t the case. And after seeing what's coming, this feature has definitely exceeded my expectations.

From what I've seen so far, this new hub will allow you to showcase items you’ve collected across different biomes in the Valley. Each biome will have its own dedicated space, designed to highlight your progress and collections. At launch, two rooms will be available - Peaceful Meadow and Dazzle Beach - with more rooms expected to be added over time.

Each space will require repairs before becoming fully functional, and completing these will reward you with new items. This looks like it could become a long-term progression system, giving you a meaningful way to display your collections -  and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

Quality of Life Improvements

The update also introduces improvements to the crafting and uncrafting table menus, including search functionality and filter options. These changes should make crafting much faster and easier to manage. As someone who prefers visual organisation, I’d still love to see sub-tabs added in the future - separating base Valley items and DLC content - just to make browsing even smoother.

With April 8 just around the corner, now is the perfect time to get ready. Based on a recent teaser from Gameloft, some of the best ways to prepare include unlocking the Moana Realm, unlocking the Forest of Valor biome, tidying your Valley to make space for new friends, and completing your current Star Path rewards. You can check out my prep video guide here.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that the Eggstravaganza event is currently active in the Valley until April 21 - so there’s plenty happening at the moment. You can check out my Eggstravaganza event egg guide here.

What are you most excited for in this update?

From a new character arrival style, to a brand new story, and a completely unexpected feature like Olaf’s Grand Exhibition - this update is bringing a lot of fresh content to the Valley. April 8 can’t come fast enough.

Thanks for reading along - be sure to check back soon for more entries. I’ve got an Eggstravaganza rewards guide, a Moana overview, and more update coverage on the way.

✨ Paw-fect Romance Star Path: Event Ends

✨ With the Paw-fect Romance Star Path almost behind us, I wanted to take a moment to properly reflect on this event - what it did well, what stood out, and whether it truly delivered on that dreamy, romantic vibe it promised.

Because let’s be honest - Star Paths have become one of the biggest reasons many of us log in daily. And when they hit right, they really hit.

๐Ÿ’• First Impressions: Cute, Themed… A Winner?

From the moment this Star Path dropped, the theme was clear: romance, elegance, and a whole lot of Lady and the Tramp energy. And visually? It absolutely delivered.

While there wasn’t that immediate “I NEED everything here” feeling across the board, it became more of a slow appreciation as I unlocked items over time - especially the furniture pieces.

I’m not always the biggest fan of wardrobe sets, but from a completionist perspective, I’ll always make sure I collect every reward in a Star Path.

๐Ÿพ The Real Star: Cozy Aesthetic

Let’s talk about the highlights, because this Star Path definitely had them.

It leaned heavily into soft pinks and reds, romantic Valentine-style decor, and a few playful pet-inspired touches. There was a good balance of clothing and furniture, and while I naturally gravitate toward the furniture pieces, the overall set felt incredibly cohesive - especially alongside the Puppy Love update.

๐ŸŽ Rewards Breakdown: Worth It or Not?

This is where things get a little mixed for me.

There were definitely items I loved and will use long-term - but there were also a few that felt like they existed just to fill slots (sorry Gameloft, I still love you!) When I start to see motifs designed after the Star Path logo and currency, alongside fewer bonus rewards, it does stand out a bit.

Compared to Witchful Thinking, which had a stronger identity and more standout pieces in my opinion, Paw-fect Romance sits just below for me… only just. That said, I wasn’t disappointed. If you enjoy decorating themed areas and love seasonal aesthetics, this Star Path absolutely had value - especially with how strong and consistent the furniture design was.

One big clothing positive for me: there were actually a few pieces I can see myself using - the Jim Dear Costume Suit Jacket, Jim Dear Costume Hat, and the Tweed Basil Coat all feel wearable for gameplay or DreamSnaps themes.

๐Ÿ“‹ Duties & Progression: The Usual Grind

The duties followed the familiar formula - completing a set of Dreamlight tasks, character interactions, resource gathering, cooking, fishing, and more. Nothing groundbreaking, but also nothing frustrating enough to call out.

And honestly? At this point, consistency isn’t a bad thing. We know what to expect, which makes it easier to plan around - especially when juggling friendship quests, decorating, DreamSnaps, and seasonal events.

At the end of the day, the Paw-fect Romance Star Path did what it needed to do. It looked great, stayed on theme, and gave me a reason to log in and grind for some genuinely gorgeous furniture pieces - and I love growing that collection. It definitely brought a lot of charm to the Valley.

▶️ If you want to see a quick recap of the Paw-fect Romance Star Path, you can watch the video here.

With the next update around the corner, you’ve got less than a week to finish off any remaining duties, claim your Star Path tokens, and exchange them for any rewards you still want before they disappear.
I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what the next Star Path brings.

Thanks for reading along - I’ll catch you in the next entry!

✨ Eggstravaganza Event Guide: Where to Find All Eggs

Spring has officially arrived in the Valley, which means one thing…

The Eggstravaganza Event is back - and if you’ve played this before, you already know how chaotic (and slightly addictive) egg hunting can get. If you’re new? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

๐Ÿ“… Event Dates - Don’t Miss This Window

The Eggstravaganza event runs from April 1 to April 21.

So you’ve got a solid three weeks to collect all the eggs you need, complete duties, and craft all the seasonal items before the eggs disappear again.

And trust me - you will want to stay on top of this one. It sneaks up fast if you leave it too late. With so many items requiring event-only eggs (and 7 new craftables this year), pacing yourself early makes a big difference.

๐Ÿฅš All Egg Types (And Where To Find Them)

This is where things get interesting - because not all eggs are created equal. You’ll be collecting multiple different egg types, each found in completely different ways:

๐ŸŒฟ 1. Egg-cellent Fruit (Pink Egg)

- Found on Egg Fruit bushes in the Plaza.
- 3 bushes appear at the start of the event.
- Each bush provides 3 eggs, spawning every 60 minutes.

These are your “easy” eggs - just remember to check in regularly.
Tip: Harvest with a Foraging buddy for extra drops.

๐ŸŒผ 2. Wild Spring Egg (Blue Egg)

- Spawn across all 8 biomes in Dreamlight Valley.
- 5 eggs spawn every 30 minutes.
- A maximum of 10 eggs can spawn at once across all biomes.

These are the ones you’ll casually pick up while doing everything else.
Tip: If you have the Ancient Vacuum from Eternity Isle, this makes collection significantly faster (mist required).

๐ŸŒฑ 3. Spring V-EGG-etable (Yellow Egg)

- First craft a V-EGG-etable Seed and then grow.
- To craft V-EGG-etable Seed you'll need: 1 Egg-cellent Fruit, 1 Wild Spring Egg and 20 Dreamlight.
- Each harvest gives 1 Spring V-EGG-etable

So yes… you’re crafting eggs into seeds… to grow more eggs. Very Dreamlight logic.
Tip: Use a Gardening buddy when harvesting for bonus drops.

๐Ÿ’œ 4. Purple Spring Egg (Purple Egg)

- Spawn inside select Realms (not the Valley!)
- Realms to find them in: Moana, Toy Story, and WALL·E.
- 1 egg spawns every 5 minutes.
A maximum of 10 eggs can spawn at once across all realms.

๐ŸŸ 5. Fishy Green Egg (Green Egg)

- New to the 2026 Event.
- Found by fishing at Dazzle Beach.
- Collect by fishing in special purple ripples.

This one adds a nice bit of variety, and the purple ripples seem to appear frequently along the beach.
Tip: Bring a Fishing buddy - you’ll thank yourself later.

If you prefer a visual walk through, check out the images below.

๐Ÿงบ What Are The Eggs Actually For?

All these eggs feed into:

Cooking event recipes
Crafting seasonal furniture
Completing event duties
Unlocking exclusive rewards (including companions ๐Ÿ‘€)

๐Ÿ’ญ My Quick Take (Because You Know I Have One)

This is honestly one of the better recurring events in Dreamlight Valley. Why?

- It encourages you to explore every part of the game
- It mixes multiple mechanics (farming, fishing, foraging, realms)
- And it actually feels seasonal in a way some events don’t

That said… it can get grindy if you’re trying to complete everything quickly. My advice? Don’t rush it. Build it into your daily routine. I spend about 15 minutes per day collecting all five eggs - and the Ancient Vacuum makes a huge difference when gathering Wild Spring Eggs.

๐Ÿ“œ Bonus Quests

During the event, Wall-E also offers two quest types:

- Daily Quest: Blooming and Blossoming - involves crafting a flower basket
- Weekly Quest: Bunnies on the Run - involves catching bunnies in the Plaza

Both reward a mix of eggs across all five types, so they’re well worth doing if you want to speed things up.

▶️ Watch My Eggstravaganza Egg Guide! If you prefer a more visual walkthrough and want to see egg locations, check out my video here.

As always, thanks for reading along on today's journal entry! I’ll be following this up with a full breakdown of rewards, plus crafting and cooking recipes from the Eggstravaganza event! So if you’re planning to complete everything, keep an eye out.
